No one gets hurt today! A great message for all of us.

September 9 2024 - Occasionally a sign can really make you stop and think.

I was driving near Loveland several years ago and I saw a big yellow sign posted at the entrance of an industrial business. It was huge. A bright neon yellow sign.

It said: NO ONE GETS HURT TODAY

What a great sign!! I assume it was promoting workplace safety, reminding all of their employees to be careful and safe, urging them to do everything they can to not get hurt and to keep other employees from getting hurt also.

But what a great message for all of us! No one gets hurt today!!! Each of us should take that to heart. We should do everything we can to not hurt others, to let kindness and compassion rule in our lives. We need a sign like that posted at the entrances of our homes, workplaces, schools, stores. Anywhere and everywhere!

If all of us do whatever we can to promote being nice and kind to others, no one gets hurt today.

If we all learn empathy and compassion, no one gets hurt today.

If we treat others as we would like to be treated, no one gets hurt today.

If we raise our children to be kind and warmhearted, no one gets hurt today.

If we actually show true and authentic interest in others, no one gets hurt today.

If we are faithful to others, no one gets hurt today.

If we do our best to listen to others, no one gets hurt today.

Is it reality that no one gets hurt today? Nope. I am an optimist to a fault, but I know hurt happens everyday.

However, I am a complete believer in the idea that if many of us do our best to be kind and encourage our loved ones to be kind, there will be less hurt. Less tears. Less loneliness. Less despair. Call me a Pollyanna or just plumb goofy, but I know the positive actions of many can make this world a better place.

So let's take the recommendation of an industrial business and try our hardest to do our part so that NO ONE GETS HURT TODAY.

And I want to personally thank that business for making my day so much better when I drove by and saw their sign! Thank you for making me smile!
