average cow!
A HIGHLAND COW!
Ever see a cow you just want to hug?
I have! A highland cow!
They are tremendously cute and shaggy.
Like all the creatures on our big blue planet, there are all kinds of fun stuff to
learn about them!
Alrighty, first things first. Their fluffy coat!
It is long, shaggy, and keeps them warm because it has an undercoat and an outer coat.
You have to admit their coat makes them look simply adorable!
Highland cows are very gentle and friendly!
You can tell that just by looking at them!
They are from Scotland, but now you can
find them all over the world.
A group of them is called a FOLD!
They have some very impressive horns!
Both male and female highland cows have them.
They come in quite handy as they use them to dig through snow to find food.
Highland cows are the oldest breed of cattle in the world!
Their shaggy fringe above their eyes is called a DOSSAN. I think they look like super long bangs that make them look even more adorable! But can they see where they are going???
They eat a lot! If they are not sleeping,
they are eating.
